I want to slowly transform a small space. Something that people use everyday. A place where you spend time in but you never look at. After watching the documentary 'lift' I want to do something to the lift in my block of flats over a period of a week. I want a space that people normally ignore to become a talking point? I think the changes will start off subtle and then get a bit more romantic...
21/02/2010 - A week after Valentines -Whenever I walk into the lift in my flat block it always smells of something different. Garlic, bacon and vinegar are just some of the obtrusive smells that have filled that little space. I sprinkled lavender oil into the carpet. The lift smells so much better.
22/02/2010 - The carpet is a bit dull. I scattered rose petals on it. I guess I'm starting from the floor and working my way up. I bet the cleaner will sweep them away.
