I hate circles, but love David Batchelor/LaChapelle

Damien Hirst - Amodiaquin

I have recently discovered the Scottish artist David Batchelor. I first saw his book when I was interning at the Talbot Rice and kept on meaning to buy it! However, for now these photographs will suffice.

I have also just been introduced to the American photographer/advertiser David LaChapelle. His fashion photography and portraits of celebrities are eccentric and bizarre.

I remember this advert being on the television. I thought it was so well put together and clever.

3rd Year work Inspiration?

Kim Coleman and Jenny Hogarth

'Staged' is the exhibition of Kim Coleman and Jenny Hogarth. The exhibition is curated my the Collective gallery but is based up on Calton Hill. The piece is a "multi-channel video installation combining live footage with pre-recorded footage". The work takes Edinburgh Festival into consideration as well as the tourists who visit Edinburgh during this time. The live images are taken from cctv cameras; one on top of Calton Hill and one near Camera Obscura. These images capture tourists, visitors and locals and turn them their own 'staged' performance.
